My First Four Weeks in Brisbane
I arrived Brisbane four weeks ago. For me, this one month is really long and also really short. Australian food are good, except Vegemite. I think people are kind and friendly. I went to South Bank, Central Brisbane and Indooroopilly in this 4 weeks.
I met many people who are from various countries. I could talk with Thai, Saudi Arabia, China, France and so on. I think I might not have such opportunity in Japan.Talking with other countries people is fun because I can listen to their story such as people and languages. I feel it is like a world trip.
These conversations give me a little difficult feeling. When I talk with them in English, I always struggled to use English. Sometime this situation gives me more English interests, but sometime I'm frustrated myself.
Through these thoughts, I always think languages are interesting and have strong power. At the moment, my English skill isn't enough to tell exactly what I want to say. I still have seven months before I back to Japan.
Only I need to do is to keep studying English.

Hi Maichi
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Vegemite yet, for I'm afraid of the taste, but I'll try it another day.
I hope you enjoy your stay and I really want to go to UQ together!!!!

Hey Mai!!
ReplyDeleteDon't you like Vegemite!?!?!?
It's tasty if you eat with toast with butter. (but don't put too much)
I think your English skill must have improved in last 7 weeks, especially in listening.
I want to go to many place with you more!!! :D
Yukari
Vegemite!!! Don't worry, most international people don't like Vegemite, but some of them grow to like it (on toast with butter, or as a vegemite scroll).
ReplyDeleteYour language use is good but I think it will be even better in 7 months time. Just one or two things: We say 'food is good', not 'are good', because it is uncountable. Also, when we talk about people from other countries, we use the nationality adjective, such as Saudi Arabian, Chinese, or French.
Good luck with your studies - I look forward to your next post!
Henno
It's definitely difficult to express what we really want to say in English.
ReplyDeleteLet's do our best in our new class!
